Dr. Akhtar Hossain
Dr. Akhtar Hossain, a board-certified psychiatrist with over 30 years of experience, specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry while providing comprehensive mental health services to patients of all ages. He completed his fellowship training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and Columbia University, and his residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, establishing a robust foundation in psychiatric care.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Hossain has held directorship positions at various mental health facilities, where he has supervised numerous psychiatrists and Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs). His expertise encompasses treating a wide range of serious mental illnesses, including major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety, ADHD, autistic spectrum disorder, and substance use disorders.
Recognized for his contributions to the field, Dr. Hossain received the Psychiatrist of the Year Award from the Somerset County Board of Trustees. He is a proud member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association, reflecting his commitment to professional excellence.
Dr. Hossain prioritizes patient convenience, offering both in-person and virtual sessions tailored to individual needs. A proponent of evidence-based medicine, he integrates psychotherapy into his practice, emphasizing its critical role in mental health treatment. His philosophy centers on accurate diagnosis, recognizing the unique nature of each client’s symptoms. As a professional practitioner and a parent, Dr. Hossain employs a compassionate, family-oriented approach, fostering trust and collaboration to empower clients in their mental health journey.

Adeena Jacobson
Adeena Jacobson is a licensed behavior analyst with over 20 years of experience in behavioral health and education. She leads with conviction and clarity, driven by a deep commitment to strengthening mental health systems that are compassionate, accessible, and built to create meaningful, lasting change for individuals and families.
Her leadership is grounded in real-world clinical work through her private practice and more than 10 years serving on multidisciplinary evaluation teams across public school districts. Supported by dual Master’s degrees in Special Education and General Education, Adeena brings together clinical expertise and strategic vision to build programs that empower people, support families, and strengthen communities with care and purpose.

Jeff Decker
Jeffrey Decker is a prominent leader in behavioral health, renowned for building high-performing teams and organizations that deliver outstanding care to clients and families. With more than 14 years of experience in inpatient and outpatient settings across the northeastern U.S., he began his career as a direct caregiver before advancing to key leadership roles, elevating standards of care and efficiency.
He holds a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Boston College, where he was guided by top healthcare experts. As a thought leader, Jeffrey champions accessible, person-centered mental health services, advocating to remove barriers and promote holistic recovery.
His goal is to empower people and families toward improved well-being in supportive communities. As a father of two young children, he prioritizes raising awareness, educating families, and fostering connections to aid others in their journeys.

William Stover
William (Bill) Stover, LCSW, brings nearly 40 years of mental health expertise to Portum Behavioral Health, encompassing program management, supervision, and clinical care for clients across all ages. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Dickinson College, a master’s in criminal justice from the University of New Haven, and a master’s in social work from Arizona State University. His career spans diverse settings, including inpatient psychiatric care for adults, children, and adolescents; residential programs for youth and adults; outpatient mental health; substance abuse treatment; and intensive outpatient services.
Early on, Bill supported indigenous adolescents in Arizona reservation programs, then served as Clinical Coordinator for a 36-program residential network across six states. Returning to New Jersey, he spent 24 years as Associate Executive Director/Clinical Director at the Family Guidance Center of Warren County, overseeing outpatient mental health, sexual abuse, intensive outpatient, women's programs, substance abuse, and sexual offender services. Most recently, at Jewish Family Services of Middlesex County, he held the same role, delivering direct care, clinical oversight, and administrative leadership.
Bill is also a sought-after speaker on topics like adolescence, suicide prevention, clinical methods, and normative culture.In his approach, Bill emphasizes positive peer culture and a normative framework, meeting clients at their current stage while creating supportive spaces to harness strengths, regulate emotions, and achieve goals. By leveraging group dynamics, he enables individuals to benefit from collective insights, build confidence, and aid peers. Bill is eager to apply his extensive background at Portum and in Hunterdon County.

Patricia Cody
Patricia Cody, PMHNP-BC, is a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of clinical experience. She earned her Master’s degree from Chamberlain University and is committed to evidence-based, collaborative care and patient advocacy.
With a strong background in behavioral health and case management, Patricia has worked extensively with children and adolescents at Hunterdon Behavioral Health and Doylestown Hospital. She embraces a holistic approach to care, addressing the psychosocial, physical, spiritual, and mental well-being of her patients. A lifelong learner, she continuously seeks to expand her expertise to provide the highest quality treatment.
Passionate about adolescent mental health, Patricia strives to promote wellness and support optimal patient outcomes. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, hiking, and spending time with her grown children.

Barbara Koziel, LCSW, LCADC brings a compassionate, client-centered approach to her work with individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Barbara has extensive experience working in crisis settings, as well as in inpatient and outpatient treatment centers. She specializes in supporting clients with co-occurring disorders, helping them navigate complex needs with empathy and care.
Barbara earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Rutgers University and has remained committed to using evidence-based practices while also incorporating a holistic perspective into her clinical work. She believes in meeting clients where they are-building trust through collaboration, and tailoring treatment to each individual’s unique circumstances and goals.
Passionate about empowering individuals on their path to recovery, Barbara continues to advocate for integrated care that honors both mental health and substance use recovery as essential parts of well-being. A Hunterdon County native, in her off hours Barbara enjoys spending time outdoors and with her family.

Sabrina Candido, LSW
Sabrina Candido, MSW, LSW, holds a Master’s in Social Work from Capella University and is a Licensed Social Worker dedicated to fostering a safe, supportive environment for children, teens, young adults, and families facing emotional and behavioral challenges.
With expertise in case management, crisis intervention, and inpatient care, Sabrina combines clinical insight with practical experience. She specializes in helping young adults manage anxiety, depression, school stress, and behavioral issues, guiding them to build resilience, develop coping strategies, and enhance family connections.
Grounded in empathy and collaboration, Sabrina tailors her approach to each client’s unique needs, empowering them to achieve meaningful, lasting change with respect for their individual journey.

Nick is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a graduate of Rutgers University with more than a
decade of experience in the behavioral health field. Throughout his career, he has worked in a
variety of clinical settings, allowing him to develop a comprehensive understanding of the
complex challenges individuals face across different stages of life.
Nick’s therapeutic approach is grounded in a strengths-based philosophy, focusing on helping clients recognize and build upon their existing capabilities while developing new tools for growth and change. He integrates evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based techniques to support individuals in improving emotional regulation, strengthening coping skills, and navigating life’s
challenges more effectively.
Nick is committed to creating a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental therapeutic
environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. His goal is to help
individuals build resilience, gain deeper self-awareness, and develop practical strategies that promote lasting well-being and meaningful personal progress.

Diana Fransis
Diana Fransis, RDN, is a registered dietitian and the founder of Wellness From Within, LLC. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from Rutgers University and completed her dietetic internship at UMDNJ (now Rutgers). As a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a certified lifestyle coach through the Diabetes Prevention Program, Diana brings over 11 years of experience, including four years focused on eating disorders and behavior change.
At Portum Behavioral Health, Diana guides clients in healing their relationship with food through evidence-based nutrition therapy, fostering recovery and overall well-being. She is deeply committed to nutrition education, balanced eating, and empowering individuals to nourish their bodies without fear or restriction.
Residing in Whitehouse Station, NJ, with her husband and three children, Diana enjoys developing and sharing nutritious recipes that inspire a healthy and enjoyable approach to food.

Cheryl Nogan
Cheryl Nogan is a 500-hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) with over 25 years of experience teaching yoga. With a background in Special Education, she is also certified in Adaptive Yoga and Somatic Yoga. Throughout her career, Cheryl has worked with a diverse range of individuals, including professional football players, high school and college athletes, senior citizens, and individuals with disabilities.
Her expertise in meditation therapy has been recognized by the U.S. Army for supporting disabled veterans and has also been recommended for postpartum mothers. Cheryl is passionate about making yoga accessible to all, helping her students build strength, resilience, and mindfulness through personalized practice.

Gabrielle Pridmore
Gabrielle is a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) in New Jersey and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Montclair State University. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University.
Passionate about the healing power of music in therapy, Gabrielle uses evidence-based interventions to empower, support, and connect with clients. She has diverse clinical experience working with adolescents and adults in psychiatric and substance use treatment, as well as hospice care, older adults, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and pediatric medical/oncology patients.
As a master’s-level intern, Gabrielle takes a trauma-informed, holistic approach to wellness, integrating person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and psychoeducation.
In her free time, she enjoys writing music, watching true crime shows, and exploring new restaurants with her husband.

Originally from Philadelphia's suburbs, Adam's early passion for human behavior and helping others led him to earn a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Temple University, sparking his focus on behavioral health and community support.
He began his career as a Mobile Outreach Coordinator in the Child Advocacy Unit at the Philadelphia Public Defender’s Office, championing stability for youth and families. Eager for broader impact, Adam served four years in the U.S. Army, cultivating discipline, resilience, and teamwork.
Transitioning to adolescent mental health and substance use treatment, a field close to his heart. Adam has been in recovery from substance use disorder since June 2018, channeling his experiences into his work. In the last two years, he has advanced through roles as Case Manager, Continuing Care Coordinator, Business Development Representative, and now Director of Business Development at Portum Behavioral Health. There, he links families, professionals, and communities to essential resources for lasting recovery and emotional health, offering the support he once sought as a youth.
Beyond work, Adam stays active with physical training, hiking, rucking, and MMA, while collecting vintage clothing, music, and movies to celebrate creativity and uniqueness.

Danielle Strobridge
Danielle was born and raised in Hunterdon County and continues to proudly call it home. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The College of New Jersey and has a professional background in both psychology and human resources. Danielle brings a thoughtful, people-centered perspective to her work, with a strong focus on connection, compassion, and creating supportive environments for the individuals and families served by Portum Behavioral Health.
Danielle values the strong sense of community that Hunterdon County offers and appreciates the opportunity to be part of an organization dedicated to supporting local families. She believes in meeting people with understanding and kindness, and in helping create spaces where others feel supported and heard.
Outside of work, Danielle enjoys spending time with her loved ones and her fur babies. In her spare time, you can often find her baking sourdough, taking trips to the beach, or simply enjoying the little moments that make life meaningful.
